This year, we celebrate Pentecost on May 11, fifty days after Easter. On Pentecost we celebrate Jesus’ gift of the Holy Spirit to his followers. We celebrate the power of the Holy Spirit on our lives and in the Church. We celebrate that the Holy Spirit gives us the gifts to carry on the work of Jesus in the world today. We celebrate that we are all called to share our gifts in service to one another. Choose one of the following activities to celebrate Pentecost together.

1. Make symbols of the Holy Spirit out of construction paper. Post them where they can remind you that the Holy Spirit is present and active in our lives.

2. Make prayer cards with the Prayer to the Holy Spirit on them. Distribute these prayer cards to homebound members of the parish. (The Prayer to the Holy Spirit can be found in the back of the Faith First® books.)

3. Make a collage out of pictures that show how the Holy Spirit helps us live as followers of Jesus.

4. Revisit the Holy Spirit and Pentecost lessons in your Faith First® textbooks.
