Gracious God,
I want to do my part.
I want to be responsible to my family and friends,
just in my dealings with others,
generous with those who are in need.
I want to avoid what will lessen my life,
what will harm those I love,
what will spread discouragement or fear.
I want to do my part.
But let me always recognize how little
my part is compared to yours.
Let me accept you as the One who gives
and myself as the one who receives.
Thank you for what you have given me.
Allow me to take more. Amen.
