Pauline Year Prayer Service
Welcome and Introduction
Today we celebrate Saint Paul the Apostle. Saint Paul is known for being an evangelist and missionary. He traveled to many lands to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to others. Because of Saint Paul’s efforts, many people came to believe in Jesus and were baptized and the Church grew. In our reading today, Paul tells us how important love is. Listen to how Paul describes love to the people in Corinth.
Let us begin our prayer as we were baptized.
All: Pray the Sign of the Cross

Reading: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Reflecting on the Reading
• What does Paul says love is?
• What does Paul say love is not?
• How does being patient show our love?
• Who has taught you to be kind?
• What does it mean to be jealous? How should we feel when something good happens to someone else?
• How do you show love and support for your family and friends?
Summarize Paul’s message:
All members of our Church family are called to love and support one another. Together we help make God’s love visible in the world.
Prayers of the Faithful
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.
For the Church, that she may always be a place of welcome and love. We pray to the Lord.
For the poor, the hungry, and the homeless, that through us they may experience God’s loving presence. We pray to the Lord.
For our families, that they may grow in love and care for one another. We pray to the Lord.
For all of us gathered here, that God’s Spirit may give us the courage to share God’s love with the world. We pray to the Lord.
Lord’s Prayer
As a sign of our unity and love for one another, let us pray as Jesus taught. Our Father…

Let us pray.
Loving God, bless our Church family.
Help us to love and support one another.
In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
